When used with food, Hemp seeds do not seem to pose any risk to pregnant or nursing mothers. The FDA reported no concerns when it recently completed its evaluation of a number of different hemp seed ingredients.

Though it is possible for Hemp seeds to collect a minuscule amount of CBD given its proximity to other parts of the plant, the volume of CBD is so low to be almost negligible and poses no danger to pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.

What Benefits Do Hemp Seeds Provide for Pregnant or Nursing Mothers?

Hemp is different from CBD as it does not contain any cannabinoids. Therefore, unlike CBD products, Hemp is unable to treat medical problems like insomnia, pain, or anxiety.

However, research has shown Hemp to be of great help when combating constipation or improving heart health. Hemp seeds contain a pure, organic mix of proteins, fiber, antioxidants, chlorophyll, calcium, potassium, phospholipids, phytosterols, and enzymes among others. All of these are found in an easy to digest form. 

From its hearty composition, it should be clear that Hemp seeds provide expectant and nursing women with essential proteins and fatty acids that are critical for fetal health and development. Fatty acids contained in Hemp seeds are also helpful in combating premature birth as well as postpartum depression. It also protects the heart and immune system and helps ward off inflammation.

Hemp seeds are also rich in calcium that is extremely helpful in the development of the baby’s bones, mineralization, and overall development. The potassium content in Hemp seeds helps expecting and new mothers with leg cramps, and magnesium helps in controlling blood sugar levels.
