This recipe has CBD-infused sweets with ginger, turmeric, and other similar spices. CBD, along with the spice compounds is known to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and pain-relieving properties.

This recipe is suitable for vegans as it uses seaweed extract for the setting. Sugar is also avoided with the use of unadulterated fruit juice as sweetening agents.

Cannabidiol or CBD is known to have pain-relieving benefits as well as helping reduce inflammation, treat epilepsy-related symptoms, anxiety as well as insomnia. Research into the full benefits of CBD is still ongoing.

In its part, turmeric contains curcumin – the powerful and naturally-occurring compound. Curcumin has been proven to help treat inflammation, help in the eradication of free radicals, improve heart health, and boost brain function.

While all the benefits of turmeric are as yet unknown, it is relatively inexpensive and easy to consume as part of a daily dietary plan.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cup or 240ml of Orange or Carrot juice
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 2″ piece of Ginger
  • 12 normal doses of CBD oil
  • 1 tsp Agar-agar powder
  • ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Thinly slice the ginger.
  • Transfer all the ingredients, except the CBD oil, into a pan.
  • Sprinkle the Agar-agar gradually to prevent clumping.
  • Cook on low heat for 5 mins while stirring constantly. This prevents the Agar-agar from clinging to the bottom of the pan and setting.
  • Remove the ginger slices and add the CBD oil to the mixture.
  • Leave to cool for 5 mins.
  • Pour into a mold or dish of your choice and leave to set.

The CBD infused sweets with Turmeric and Ginger can be enjoyed straight away and will last in your fridge for up to a week. However, ensure that you do not exceed the prescribed CBD dose as listed in your bottle.

In case you don’t have a mold handy, you can also pour the mixture into a lined bowl and slice once the mixture is set.

The usage of the powdered version of Agar-agar instead of flakes or bars is important in this recipe as the powdered version is the most concentrated. If using other forms of Agar-agar, you will need to adjust the amount accordingly and this may impact the time the mixture takes to set. Agar-agar is readily available online and in Asian shops.

CBD oil and turmeric are well documented to have a long list of health benefits with very few side effects. However, it is always advisable to check with a licensed medical professional. CBD is currently not regulated by the FDA and is therefore not officially approved in the treatment of many medical conditions.

Additional Tips

You may also try adding coconut oil to this recipe. Coconut oil significantly boosts the absorption of turmeric. That said, coconut oil does negatively impact the aesthetic value of the finished dish as it forms a separate layer.

These CBD-Infused Sweets with Turmeric and Ginger can be had with other natural, high-fat foods like nuts to aid in the absorption process.

It is also advisable to use whole ginger with the skin as this is where most of the nutritional benefits lie.
